Well, since we’re based in and love our home State of California, we thought it apt and appropriate to name one of our favorite bar cookie recipes after the place we call home. California, also known as the “Golden State” is represented suitably by a state flower known as the “cup of gold”, once cherished by early California Indians as a plentiful source of food.
In short and to the point, these bars are just luscious. One bite quickly becomes two and one must pace oneself so as to not consume the entire lot at one sitting. Perhaps it’s the deliberate combination of butter and powdered sugar that form the crusts with just the right amount of sea salt to make them melt on your tongue. Taking center stage of course is the vein of coal black poppy seed and almond filling running down the center. These lovelies join up with the others in our Wild Flower & Seed Collection™ as the reining bar cookie. So give these bloomin’ beauties a go… We’re pretty sure you’ll want more after just a few bites.
