Moving horses sixteen miles! What a blast!

Posted by Jill Bosich on

We were moving part of the horse herd from the spring pastures up to the summer pastures where the grass was green and lush. This was the half way point and the herd slowed down enough that I could snap this photograph.

It’s hard to hold a camera when flying thirty miles an hour on the back of a horse on open range. Thankfully there’s gates that slow us down. Once those open, the race is back on!

It’s about 16 miles as the crow flies from camp to camp, most of it at a solid run. It’s all part of putting a steak 🥩 on your plate 🤠 and I love this range 🩵
